Lets be honest! When you buy a pair of denim jeans, how much are you paying for the product, and how much are you paying for the brand name?
Think about the following example……….
H&M recently opened in the V@A waterfront and one of the opening specials was a ladies skinny blue denim selling for R199. The item was on trend, a good fit, with a good quality fabric.
A similar item at Guess will cost R999 and at G Star raw R1999. If we assume the Guess and G Star denims have more detail, maybe extra stitching, and a better fabric. Can they however be that much better for the price they are asking. The G Star denim is ten times more expensive than the H&M garment, are you getting ten times more value for your money or are you paying an excessive premium for the brand name.
Every clothing retailer has denim in its range. Mango, Forever New, Foschini, Truworths, Top Shop, Mr Price, Woolworths, etc etc. Edgars have many various brands of denim such as Tom Taylor, Calvin Cline, Guess, Levi, and many more.
It is definitely a personal choice when buying denims. You need to satisfy the below points before you part with your cash!
- Fit
- Style
- quality
- fabric weight
- brand credibility
Number 5 will determine the price you pay for that item…….
